Life is looking up

I think I had forgotten how to socialise in the 'real world'. I was a little lost and I a lot scared about getting back out there. Last night I did. Had a few drinks with the girls at the pub, ended up back at Yvette's and Kim and I rocked the Guitar Hero, and generally just had a wonderful time. David and his friends came on over at around 3 and I was happy to head home shortly after with my man :) Sometimes I feel like I may be missing out on something by being in such a serious relationship so early in my life, but it's the times when we do head out and lead our separate lives that I realise there is no one I would rather co-exist with in this life. He really is my best friend. Haha, cheeeeeeesy!

Oh and I recently got my Macbook Pro for my trip! I was going to get a loan in order to have it now but David offered to buy it and I just pay him back over 12 months instead, that way I don't have to pay interest. *sigh* I am one lucky girl. The above photo is me at the time of typing this post - don't cha love my awesome owl pj top and slight residue of mascara on my face. Hehe!

AND I'm two pages away from having 30 points this month in my SSD portfolio, which means I will get a voucher for 40% off their products to use next month! I know Sara likes to see them so I thought I'd show a few off in this post. Click them for (slightly) bigger pics and credits.

Looking at them now, it seems I had a thing for polka papers this month :) So yes, life is good. And I haven't blogged in a while because I've been too busy playing Sims 3. I'm so excited about the latest expansion 'Ambitions'. Can not wait. Haha - I sound like the biggest nerd. With that, I am off to play ping pong on the wii with David.

Hope your life is ace at the moment. Come to think of it, I really should make some of you bloggy friends in the Sims. We can all go get coffee, wouldn't that be grand? :D

Fed up with gym times...

ALREADY? No! I was doing so well! Let's be honest here - it's supposed to get easier right? Well this morning I spent a good 5 minutes trying to get in the door (Dodgy card I bet) and was about to give up when it finally worked. THEN I made my way to the treadmill room and they were all full. I turned around like an idiot and walked away... I must have looked like the biggest tool. There was terrible AC/DC tunes on (motivating? um no) and I don't know how to use half the weighty things... so I'm just sick of it. Definitely dragging David's bum down there - maybe this avo before netball? I wish I had a gym buddy in this town. Unfortunately all the ladies in this town are, um, let's not go there. I'm sure they're lovely people - I'm just not their cup of tea it seems. So I've decided (with a little inspiration from Sara) that I need to make my own mixed cds to groove to... Stay tuned!

Now that I've vented, I wanted to share some awesome photos of David and I, but they were taken without a memory card in the camera so I need to find my cord to get them off and stuff knows where that is. So right now you get a photo of my outfit (totally the next best thing.)

That shirt was one of the first items I ever bought with my own money. We were in QLD at Pacific Fair and I had never heard of 'The Cassette Society' before but I thought this was the coolest thing. I totally forgot I had it until I started the spring cleaning a few weeks ago. It's funny because it fits me better now (it's kinda a tunic) than it did when I was 15 :D

Thanks for all your comments on my last post. David and I have been watching One Tree Hill since the weekend (something he claims to not enjoy but he totally brought the idea up Monday evening, hehe) so I haven't quite caught up yet, but I'm getting there - don't you worry :)

What would you write about?

I'm just gonna ramble here, feel free to stop reading at any time.
What are we here for? What are you here for? What do you blog for? Do you share your style? Your recipes? Things that make you smile? Are you out there to make others smile? Or do you just write for yourself? I get it, this is a blog, my blog, and I should write what I want, when I want, about what I want. And I do. I don't apologise anymore for who I am. And I never will.  I don't think you should either.

But seriously, blogs are about self expression. But if we wanted to just write for ourselves we'd write in a diary... we want attention. Everyone wants to be heard. I know I do. I want to make a difference. Do you? I want to brighten someone's day, or make them think... I want to matter to someone. Anyone. Coz sometimes it feels like I don't.

I want to make someone feel special. I comment back to all of you because I want you to feel like you matter. Because you do. You're all a part of my story. And my story hasn't been going the way I wanted. I fucking hate this town and I miss my Dad more than anything in the world. Nothing I do, or write, is going to bring him back. This eats at me sometimes, and other times it's ok... but it's always there.

If I could write one thing and have everyone take notice it would be this;
You matter. Each person is so special and sometimes, with all this technology and constant insight into others lives we forget that. I don't want you to forget that. Don't compare yourself to others; it's not healthy. Run your own race. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it; there will always be someone willing to give it. It is never too late to start fulfilling your true potential... Just believe in yourself. Live life, live it to the fullest, because you never know when it will be over.  And share your knowledge, help others out, there is no point keeping your secret recipe, or favourite band, or awesome way to style your hair, to yourself. Because once your gone, what is left? What you left behind; be it memory, or knowledge, or feeling. Strive to be the best person you know; don't let others take advantage of your kindness or your ability, but don't be too hesitant to give forgiveness to those who truly seek it. Oh, and you are beautiful. Seriously, I don't know anyone that is quite like you, you are one of a kind. :)

I know I rambled on, but what would you write? Tell me in a comment, create your own post and link me up, email me. I want to know. Because right now I need some hope, hope that I'm not the only one feeling this way, hoping I'm not the only one who cares.

Gym Kickage the 2nd.

So when I woke up this morning at 6:40am (yep, that's when David has to leave for work EVERY day. Screw. That.) my cramps at subsided. Haha! Gym time :) I honestly feel SO GOOD after 'working out' - I feel sort of light-headed, in a good way (thanks endorphins!). Here's a little photo booth capture of how my frame of mind changes...

"Why am I up this early? I want to die. Or at least go back to bed"

"Nothing a headband and a banana can't fix - let's go!"

"YEAH! Go me. Hm, put my iTunes shuffle on. Oh Matchbox 20 I couldn't have picked a better song myself."

I did 40 minutes today. Minus the 5 it took me to get in the door as always. Minus another 5 I wasted trying to turn on all of the bikes (I was the only one there.) I will have to ask someone next time there is human life in there... I'm not complaining I love pumping the sound system and dancing in front of the mirrors alone. Haha.

Pssst! If you've ever wanted to try digital scrapping but had no idea where to start/didn't wanna commit money to something you may not enjoy - check out this blog. My scrapping 'home' is one of their amazing sponsors and there may be an amazing FREEBIE involved.

Ouchies!

It's that TOTM and I have never had cramps as bad as these. I wouldn't even call them cramps, just a huge ache that hurts even more when I move and is downright unbearable when I sneeze. Some people have said maybe it's a good gym hurt, but it's below my belly button and the sides of my belly that hurt :( Thinking it's my new pill. Yay another trip to the Dr's for me... Anyway, enough of that.

Excuse the pained expression on my face and pay attention to my awesome booties with the socks hanging out the top. I think this could easily be worn with flats or sandals but the boots and socks give it a bit of an Autumn edge. I dunno whether Tegan has worn socks like this, but she sprang to mind when I put them on this morning.

This is one of the many floral dresses I have acquired. As far as I'm concerned, you can never have enough. I've actually broken one of the straps on this one, (easily fixed if I could get hold of a new clasp - hello Tas) but was determined to wear it without layers underneath before I head off on my winter adventure. So that's where the trusty vest came in and waallaah! You have yourself an outfit!

Hope you are all feeling better than I am today. I'm off to Volleyball in a bit, I may have passed on the gym in my current state but this is a sport that can be played no matter how you feel :D

THE BEST MONDAY EVER!

So after my gym kick I threw some clothes together and this is what I got. I always think peach and navy is a nice alternative to black. And this skirt is one of the few thrifted pieces I own. So double points for me!

So anyway, today! OMG. First of all I was just on a natural high from the gym, then my bubs came into have lunch with me. After that things just went up hill; I got my amazing care package from Megan (I won her giveaway) and it is so good it deserves it's own post. THEN I got an email stating I'd been accepted into my first preference uni course!!! ARGH!

In case you were wondering I wanted to do a billion things at uni, but decided on a Bachelor of Communications/Bachelor of Arts... majoring in either Journalism or PR or maybe marketing. I don't have to decide until my second year, and eep! It's so exciting! I've already checked and I can defer my offer for 6 or 12 months, so I can tackle it after my Tas trip. Booyah!

Then to top it all off, when I got home my World Sweet World zines I ordered from Big Cartel were on the table! *sigh* It really was the perfect day. You know what topped it all off? Being able to share it with some of my best friends; you guys. You all seriously rock my world, thanks for your encouraging words and just always being there to vent to. :)

Me and my gym kick!

Oh haven't you heard? Well, I joined a gym on Saturday. 70$ for a month the told me... rip off if you ask me, but I googled it and the avg price in Perth is more than that. I actually ended up paying $90 for a 'family' membership so I can drag David along when I feel less motivated. Even if I go every day, that's $3 every time I walk in the door! So I figured I better put this baby to good use.

After pigging out on Oreos last night, I figured today was the perfect day to start! I actually slept in my gym shirt, with my shorts on my bedside table for that little extra push. Just add sportsbra and footwear and I was out the door. I considered sitting in the car outside Bodyline for a while but there was someone coming out so I hauled my bum out of that car and into the gym, after struggling with the keycard and door for a good 3 minutes :D

There was only one other chick and what looked like her hubby/personal trainer in there so I went to the back room and hopped on the treadmill, then punched a boxing bag (I loooove the punching, feels good!), hopped on some machine that said it worked the gluteus (hehe) and even had a go at the rowing machine :) Honestly, it felt awesome and I know I burned 150 calories on the treadmill alone. I walked out of there an hour later feeling mighty fine about myself and here I am.

So day 1, off to a flying start with 1 hour at the gym! Take that thighs and booty! Yeah you will be rocking a mini skirt more in the next month :) Netball tomorrow night! Weeeee! And here was me thinking I hated exercise for the sake of exercise. How do you guys feel about it? Ever been to a gym? I know Belen inspired me to sign up - who else out there has a membership? My gym lacks hot guys so give me your stories!

P. Sawyer, that's me.

Do any of you watch One Tree Hill? It is my favourite show... what with the basketball, the hot boys and the ever cool Brooke Davis, I dunno how anything can top it. I've only seen up until the end of the 6th season so don't ruin it for me if you've seen season 7. Honestly, I'm not looking forward to it after hearing they cut Peyton and Lucas from the storyline.. but I guess life goes on. Weirdly, without the main two characters. Hmm..

Anyway the point of this post is that some weekends, while my boyfriend is out playing his sport, and I'm sitting here hating this town I feel like I could easily flick my webcam on and be Peyton for the night. But I don't really want a stalker pretend brother...

Sorry if none of this makes sense to you. Does anyone watch One Tree Hill here? Were you a Brucas or Leyton fan? :D

In other news I trimmed my bangs, myself, and I'm pretty darn happy with the result. The last time I did that I was 7 and let's just say I was ahead of my time with the side fringe :)

She wears the pants.

Would never have thought to venture into David's wardrobe and try this out if it wasn't for Kyla over at Blue Collar Catwalk. That girl rocks the non-denim pants so hard I was inspired to try it out too! Next up: trying to master using my tripod. Haha!

Today was just a great day, I booked my tix to Tasmania. I steered clear of chocolate, heck I even rang up the gym and organised to meet the trainer tomorrow to see if I'd like to sign up! Oh and I applied for mid-year entry at Edith Cowan Uni. If I get accepted I'll defer 6-12 months and still take this trip - don't worry! And now I have another Saturday off! What is everyone else doing this weekend? I reckon I'm going to make some cookies :)

Headband turned belt.

First of all, there are now photos of the birthday boy and I two posts down if you wanna check out the cutie :)

Alright, let's try get back in the swing of things before I move to Tassie and have my whole 'routine' changed. This is me at 9:25am Wednesday morning. I have to be at work at 9:30 and these are the only shots I got before my camera went flat. :p

I was pretty proud of wearing one of my favourite dresses as a shirt, and turning a headband that really doesn't sit right on my head (it's so tight it gives me headaches) into a belt! I ended up wearing flats and customers still commented on the flower "What's that for?" LOVE unstylish, un-appreciating bogans ;)

ps. I need a haircut and there are no salons in town. Reckon I should just trim my bangs myself or suffer in silence until June when I'm in the city for Hannah's birthday?

Tasmanian Adventure!

So tomorrow I am booking my tickets to Tasmania. I go back every summer, as some of you are aware, but this will be to move, for 6 months. On my own. I won't have a job. I will have room mates. I am both scared shitless and tremendously excited. Just hoping I can find a full time job, heck I'd settle for a part time job. But I will not work weekends. Ever again. Because working 3 hours on a Saturday morning, every weekend for the past year has been horrible. It ruins the whole weekend if we want to go away... or if I just want to sleep in before starting on cleaning the house/singing along to boppy music.

We are also on the hunt for a nice rental house. By we I mean one of my gal pals India and the lovely Shannon (he's a boy btw.) I'm going to be honest, I'm pretty picky. I don't think it's too much to ask to have a decent bathroom, a nice kitchen and average sized bedrooms. Some of the houses I have viewed on the web are plain crappy, and they want how much a week? Of course ideally we would have a sun room and a neutral palette through out... but we can't have everything so I'll settle for good water pressure and electric heating :)

So yes - adventures ahead. I will miss my babies. I will miss my David. But I'm 18. Just 18. And I need to have some time to myself, living 'by myself', with my own space and some life. Because here = existing. Not living. I can't wait to be close to a craft shop, maybe get hold of a sewing machine, make dresses, spend weekends at cafes... be able to go shopping! Real life shopping! Oh and be able to dress up, heck just wear more than one layer and maybe heels, without being stared at like some sort of loony. Read: I hate small mining towns.

I'm buying my macbook pro next week, mmm. And am frantically saving for things I'll need like a bed, winter clothes (it gets FREEZING there in winter and I plan on flying in 26th July, hahaha) and just basic furni (although India and Shan can help with this). I really want an eclectic funky house. So this blog will contain plenty of DIY in the distant future and maybe some selling of clothes and things I have here in WA in the not-so-distant future. Will let you lovelies know.

So, who thinks I'm crazy? :D

Isn't love grand?

I watched Time Traveller's Wife last night with my David. I don't want to give anything away but man - that story is amazing. I cried so much at the end. Movies like that always make me appreciate the love I have in my life :) I think about what David and I have and even though I'm so young, I feel like he is the only guy I would go through that for. *sigh* You really must watch it if you haven't already.

The rest of my weekend was spent shopping in a floral dress and making that digital design into a real hold-in-your-hand card for Alex's 1st birthday! Here's the finished product :)

And here is the birthday boy and me sharing some cupcakes his amazing mum Lisa made... Ah babies. I can't wait till the day I have my own. I mean I wanna travel and have a career and all that first, but *sigh* I really can't wait to be a mummy.

I really would like to bake something this weekend; it's been too long. Thanks for all your comments on my bloggy makeover - it's still a work in progress but I think it's coming along nicely. I just sort of get stuck into the html when I have a few hours to spare coz it's damn confusing/annoying. If you want help I can totally link you up with the sites I'm using.

Hope you all have a fantastic week!

Great start to May scrapping!

I haven't done one in a couple of days so I thought I would post my great start to try and get myself motivated again :) Again, click each pic for the credits/bigger pic.

Last weekend was International Scrapbooking Day and I had so much fun participating in challenges, stalking my fave designers for coupons on Twitter and enjoying the massive sales. Apparently it happens all again in November on Internation Digital Scrapbooking Day. I can't wait!

Oh and this is one I'm almost done with for a birthday party this Sunday. As most of you know, we have no funky shops to buy birthday cards, just a grocery store - so I figured I'd make one!

So the renovations around here are coming on slowly but surely... Also, if you haven't listened to Metric's acoustic version of 'Help I'm Alive', I strongly suggest you do. How's everyone else's week going? I know Erica has her grad ceremony soon and Claire has a new hair colour, Belen is coming down from a coffee hit and Kyla wants to know what you wanna see more of on her blog... but what have YOU been up to?

What's in my bag :)

FINALLY got around to posting the contents of my bag and it's not really that interesting. But I thought if I shared than I could ask a few of you to share - and I love stickybeaking as much as the next girl :p But first - my bag!

I got it for $15 at Strandbags. They were having a huge sale and there were two of the same bag in the store - one was $37, one was $15, and they were EXACTLY the same. If anything, this one was in better condition. Score! :) Oh and although you can't see it in the pic (didn't realise till now) it has a long strap so I wear it over my shoulder. It is the perfect size.

Inside this morning was the following things (after I cleaned it up a little of course, haha, was a good reason to actually).
1) My hand cream and chapstick.
2) My wallet and coin purse.
3) A pen and notepad (I used to try carry a little diary but they aren't as easy to rip pages out of etc)
4) My iPod (Poor thing needs a cover and never got one.. lol)
5) My mobile (Nope no fancy internet/photo savvy phone for me, just a boring old Nokia 6120)
6) My keys to work (On my awesome Cirque du Solei keychain!)

Now for the fun part.. I would love to peek in the following bags. Please indulge me :) Sara, Kyla, Eunice, Claire and Katie!
