the upcoming "long" weekend

ok so it's not really a long weekend for me (i work saturdays) but monday is the queens birthday, so it's a regular 2 days off work weekend and i'm excited!

tonight i have touch football (just a scratch match) but i'm glad for the excuse to exercise and am really looking forward to the beginning of my second season in october :)
tomorrow is the AFL grandfinal and i get to close at midday (an hour early) in order to watch it all. it's a big thing for alot of people, but David & i are just going to watch it at home.. i'm going for Geelong, although both teams playing are part of my top 3*

what im most looking forward to is gardening sunday & monday. speaking of, i'll have to take some snaps of the pretty pots we bought a couple of weeks ago and the funky plants we stuck in them. they are my pride & joy really..

anyway, i hope you have a marvelous weekend no matter what's on the agenda. stay safe!
xx

*my team of choice - Richmond, was so bad for so long i decided in year 4 that i was going to have to have 2 back up teams come finals time.. because Richmond never makes it. these teams were Geelong & St Kilda (because of my boyfriend & best friend at the time, naturally)

stand by

my dad took his own life recently. i actually found out the day after michael jackson passed away.. it was kind of annoying turning on the tv and having the whole world grieving for him, when i was suffering my own loss. ive been pretty down lately actually, so today i talked to some counsellors, who travelled over 500km to talk to me about suicide & grief. my boss was nice enough to let me take a few hours off, and when i got back i had some seedlings waiting for me from the lovely Mel :)
anyway, Shek (what a cool name) told me that it was a good idea to write down what i'm grateful for in life, whenever i'm feeling down. i'm not feeling down at the moment, but i just wanted to do it anyway on a daily basis i think, anyway see how it goes.

my Daddy & i, 1995

today i am grateful for:
1. the way getting on my Wii Fit, even for half an hour, makes me feel happy.
2. my wonderful boss & the freedom in the job i have :)
3. the fact i have friends like Mel who are so thoughtful as to let me borrow nailpolishes and give me seedlings for my garden.
4. the love of my life & our two kittens.
5. the tools my family has provided me with to get through this tough time.
6. my wonderful support net; my friends, family & the wonderful ladies from Stand By.

thankyou. today was a good day for me, hope it was for you too!

my name is ebony brooke arwen campbell,

and i am now going to be blogging here.

ive started & restarted over 10 blogs now.. and i can never really decide what the aim of my ramblings are.. so, at risk of sounding like a 13 year old myspacer, i've decided to just write down whatever comes to mind, for your reading pleasure. sorry if it doesnt always make sense/make you smile/make a difference to your day..
this is my thoughts, ideas, wants & needs... mixed with a pinch of imagination & a mass of inspiration.
hope all is well in the land of you :)
