Thrill The World.
How fantastic is this video? This is just a look at one of the towns that took part in Thrill The World... (oh how I would have loved to take part!) In the middle section you can see a girl with a red leather jacket & jeans on. Look real close & check out Sarah's 'Thrilling' moves. Then head on over to her blog; yes and yes . I'm a long-term lover of her site, I can guarantee you will become addicted.

Christmas with the cats!
Oh our girls are funny little things. Yesterday they worked out how to open a fly screen door whilst mummy & daddy were busy. Today they somehow opened the wooden laundry door to get outside while mummy was hanging out the washing. I know I shut it because I could hear them scratching and meowing for about 10 minutes, then they came rushing out the backdoor to say hi!
Anyway, this will be our first christmas together - David & I were at a loss as to what to get them to from Santa. Browsing some new blogs today I found a link to this amazing invention!
The Modkat!
I can't believe how amazing these litter boxes look; much better than the current sandbox in the corner & alot more compact. There's also testimonials on the site claiming they work... I'm keen to check them out myself. I wonder how David would react if I told him the cats present would cost $180.00 this Christmas.. Then there's the option of getting two.. Haha.
Ah well, one can dream. I'd keep it simple with white; enabling it to match the laundry, toilet or kitchen. What colour's your fave?

what i wore, saturdays are meant for sleeping!

what: shoes/dotti, skirt/otto mode, shirt/esprit
where: on the way to work, again. i hate working saturday mornings after playing touch football the night before. oh & this is the first day since getting my bangs that i didn't blow dry them. they're not too bad considering...
why: well look at that! another floral & blue hued outfit. both of which always make me feel girlie & pretty! i have a scarfe the same colour of the shoes that will definitely be worn with this navy basic in the winter. i wish i could wear more than one layer in summer here.. but it is nearly 40 degrees celsius everyday (& occasionally more!)

The gift of giving :)
Today I got paid & promptly purchased my little brother's birthday present (he turns 11 in three days!) I got JB-Hifi to ship it straight to him as he lives on the other side of the country. Then I took a look around the site & found some dirt cheap cds. $6.66 each if you bought 3, so I got 6 :) A mixed bag of old favourites I wouldn't pay full price for & some new ones I don't know if I'll entirely love...

Juno Soundtrack, Come Away With Me/Norah Jones, Greatest Hits/Christina, Plans/Death Cab, Greatest Hits/Shania Twain, This Business of Art/Tegan & Sara
It was at this point I remembered I had a gift card for Sanity, left over from my birthday. What better way to spend it than on someone else? Considering I already had my new muse on the way... so I bought the 2 blu-rays David has been after. Wolverine & the new Transformers flick. Hopefully because I bought them for him, he won't force me to watch them. *fingers crossed*
So today I feel exceptionally good. I got to hang out with B last night & I had a blast playing Monopoly (& totally being in front when we called it quits! hehe).. & there's something so nice about giving to others, that has put me on top of the world. That & the fact I ate lunch by myself in the park with the smell of rain & grass surrounding me :D Hope you're all having a wonderful day & have an even better weekend!
Oh & I would LOVE to hear about what you're listening to. Now that I'm finally getting the net @ home after a year without it, I can get on the iTunes store :)

Never even had a chance to say goodbye..
My boyf & I recently bought an iMac computer & I was keen to get my photos from my external hard drive onto the computer & sort them with iPhoto. I copied them over, just click & drag.. & half an hour later it claimed to have copied 136.06GB worth of documents. Happy me :)
Then a few days ago I took my drive to work to upload some photos to facebook. Done & done. THEN I had a look for a few photos from earlier this year to share with you lovely ladies. The folder they were in was there, titled '2009' as always. But the subfolders named 'Tasmanian Trip' & 'Kitties' etc were GONE. I check '2008' & '2007'.. everything was there. Don't worry Ebony, they're probably on the computer at home...
Nope. They weren't. & that my friends, is how I lost the past year in photos besides what I uploaded on facebook (mainly a few birthday parties & the best of the kitty shots) & here on blogger. Pretty dissappointing, considering we took over 300 photos on Tas & I only uploaded one from each place we visited. Waaaaaah.
So ladies, back up your photos, & then back them up on disks or online again. Because I work at a computer shop & our technician is stumped as to how some loose files in the '2009' won't open at all on Windows or Mac, whereas others dissappeared completely.
Oh well, life goes on. I still have my memories. That said, I should get to treat myself to a little retail therapy. I like the look of these babies from Sportsgirl. Can't wait to get hold of some peach pieces this summer, that colour is going to be big :)

The Beauty Behind The Blog - Kyla

I am simply in love with the style on Blue Collar Catwalk & Kyla's ability to find cheap pieces & turn them into high-end fashion. From the very first post I read (going back a while now), I was hooked. Now that I have a blog of my very own, I had to take the opportunity to find out a little bit more about Kyla & her life walking the 'Blue Collar Catwalk'...
When did you decide that you wanted to get your voice out there? I used to read celebrity style sites like CRAZY and I think I finally got bored. There's only so much inspiration that you can get from sites like that and I was craving something else ... and more of it! The first style blog I found was Jessica's What I Wore and my insides just came alive when I started reading. I knew this was what I wanted to do. It was really scary at first and I was really self-conscious about it. But, now I love it soooo much!
You write a fashion blog, but do you ever have days when you don't know what to wear? Of course! Don't we all have those days? I try to remember the pieces that made me feel great the last time I wore them and go for those. Then, I open my closet and just stand there and soak it in. Something eventually jumps out at me. If not, I just repeat a previous outfit with different accessories...or I wear my ACDC t-shirt :)

Where do you go for inspiration? I follow over 150 blogs and couldn't even begin to list my faves! I wouldn't follow them if I didn't get some sort of inspiration out of them. I just love seeing others personal styles. It's so un-prescribed, creative and totally unique! I'm always flipping through magazines, too. I keep a notebook with me when I read mags, so that I can take notes on outfit ideas. It's another thing I refer to on those days where I don't know what to wear.
Do you have a favourite item of clothing? Probably my vintage Wrangler jean jacket. It was my mom's when she was in high school in the early 70's. It's the real deal! I've been wearing it since I was in 8th grade and it's the softest, most perfectly broken in piece of denim in the world!
You were invited to the Weardrobe Conference in NYC, how was it? It was surreal and amazing! At first, I was really, really intimidated. I immediately felt like I was out of my league. The beauty, creativity, style and wardrobes that the other ladies brought was out of this world! Once I reminded myself that I have my own style, just like everyone else has their own style, I was able to relax a little. Then, the weekend kicked off and we all had So. Much. Fun. Everyone was so kind and we just meshed and all the insecurities just melted away! I really hope I get to experience something like that again someday.

(click for the official website with loads more)
Do you have any other travel plans on the horizon? Unfortunately, I have no travel plans for the near future. I changed jobs a couple of months ago and don't have the schedule to accommodate a trip anytime soon. Lately, I've been really itching to go to Europe. I'd love, love, LOVE to go to Greece and Italy. I've actually never been off the continent, but I know I'll get there someday!
What do you do in your down time besides blogging? I work a lot, so I don't have too much down time. Most of my jobs are creative and really flexible, so it doesn't feel like too much work. I really enjoy being able to get into a workout routine in my spare time, lots of sewing, organizing my closet (it gets ignored a lot) and just hanging out with my husband, puppy and friends. I keep things pretty low key :)
Kyla, you pull endless looks off effortlessly, what's your secret? You're so sweet! Since starting my blog, I've really been challenging myself to add more interest to my style. So, I've started using a lot of little touches mixed in with a lot of basics. I think the number one secret to pulling off any look is to know your style and be true to it. Once you find your niche, the possibilities are endless. It doesn't take a lot of clothes or money, just a lot of imagination. ♥
If you haven't done so already, go check out her blog! (Click the top pic) All photos courtesy of Blue Collar Catwalk. Do not re-produce without her permission. Thanks for reading :)

pink ribbon champagne breakfast
while people in America were getting ready for Halloween, my little town in Western Australia was alive with a different celebration. the community hall was decked out in a whole lot of pink, as were the ladies who attended...
the morning was filled with inspirational guest speakers that made me cry & gave me goosebumps. i never really thought about how breast cancer affected families & hearing people from my own community speak out about their experiences was surreal.
there was also free champers, which the primary school teachers took advantage of. they had more bottles on their table than every other put together! haha. for breakfast i had eggs & hash browns, as well as some amazing pink cupcakes & biscuits. (i lost track of how many i had, hehe)

it was a celebration of survival with alot of fun & frivolity, but also an awareness seminar on not just breast cancer, but women's health as a whole. it really was a fantastic event & it felt good knowing it was all for the benefit of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

it was a nice change being surrounded by so much pink & girliness, & i loved spending it with Em & Tash. remember ladies, it's important to know your body.. don't be scared to feel your boobies! :)

what i wore, pink ribbon breakfast

what: dress billabong, shoes betts, bag sportsgirl
where: on the way to the Pink Ribbon breakfast, quick shot by David @ the front door
why: yes yes, you've seen the bag & dress before, but not together :) i needed a pink hued outfit & this dress is just so wearable.. i added the bag for an extra touch of colour & these shoes are the only ones i have that don't rub on the blister my new thongs gave me last week. in all truth, i chucked this together in 10 minutes as i was running super late (as you can see with my wet ends...)
