See you later!

After spending the day scrubbing the shower with CLR (legendary stuff!) we are almost ready to go. The removalists are coming tomorrow and we're gonna be busy bees cleaning the walls, doors and cupboards as they clear it out. Wish us good luck!

Next time we chat I won't be calling this place home anymore... I honestly didn't care up until tonight when it hit me, yep I cried a little. I mean, I've spent more than a 3rd of my life in this town of Tom Price and although the last 2 years without some of my best friends have been hard, this is the place I grew up. This is the place I finished school, learned my strengths and weaknesses and met the love of my life. We went to thai for our last supper and Lily the owner shouted me a drink. Is that gonna happen in the big ol city?

So thanks Tom Price, for giving me some kick-arse teenage years and my family for putting up with me through them. Thanks to David for being in the right place at the right time. (Bec, thanks for dragging me down to Touch Football.) Thanks to Bev for putting her Cat's babies up for adoption, so we could have a family. Thanks to my boss for being more like my 3rd Dad. And thanks to the people who have kept me afloat up here, both rl and online. I couldn't have done it without you.

See you sometime around mid-December when our net is back on! :) You can always email me on ebby_brooke(at)hotmail(dot)com

Chain Necklace

Feeling funky fresh this week despite the RIDICULOUS heat. I won't miss this. Outside was unbearable, so Rhiannon and I decided to find a place to eat in... since I'm going to my all-time favourite Thai tonight and we went to The Coffee House on Monday, Chinese was the go. I'm not too fond of that place; it's loud asian waitress (who's always quite rude to me!), it's tacky decor and it's undercooked food... but today the company was divine and the food was actually half decent. For $13.00 you get a dish with rice and a 'free' can of soft drink. Decided to go out on a limb and get a Fanta. I couldn't remember the last time I had a can of this amazing orange stuff. Perfect for the cool weather. So yes, in case you didn't catch that, I enjoyed lunch.

The other point of this post is to show off my chain necklace. It was originally the chain on my favourite bag - but after it broke off (*sniff* was my own fault) I decided to hang onto it. This morning I decided to hang it around my neck. Still hoping I can finding the pieces to fix the bag though, it was my favourite.

Ok, the heat has gotten to me. I just rambled about my lunch and broken bag. Yeah, stellar post.

Garage Sailing...

Ok yes, I'm definitely ready to get out now. Counting the days.
Weekend was a meh one. Had my first ever garage sale with Bec on her awesome front patio. Made an adequate amount of money and learned a bit about what I'd do differently next time. Was feeling pretty crummy all day but tried to keep a brave face. I don't have any more photos because although we were ready way ahead of schedule... the prospective buyers decided to pop along then too.

First of all; people don't buy cupcakes. It might have been because it was freaking boiling out so a) we couldn't have them on display all the time or b) who feels like buying sticky when it's hot?

Second of all; people aren't gonna buy what you think they will; people love junk. Actual junk. I had pretty dresses hung on a rack - some of them barely worn and all over them worth over $50, for cheap. But instead people bought my crappy miscellaneous jewellery bags because they were cheaper still. Go figure.

Thirdly; I'm a heck of a haggler myself. I had $100 on my Nintendo DS Lite and some guy offered me $50... I was going for $80 and we ended at $70. Ok ok, it was my first time and yes he got closer to his mark than mine, wait for it. Immediately after he picked up my DS AND all my games (worth over $250) and was about to walk off with them. (He was Asian and well, liked to plead ignorance) Well, I stuck up for myself. I told him what was what and offered to hand his money back if he wasn't happy with the deal on just the DS. He put the games down and took the DS, as planned. I laughed it off with a "worth a shot" and a smile. Later he came back and I sold him a ring (without budging on the price) and two Olga Berg bags that I got offline for the same price :D So yeah, I'm playing with the big boys now.

Fourth; If here is a party on the night before and it's your last week in town - go. Don't spend the night cooped up in the house doing last minute organising. Next time plan ahead.

Fifth; it's true. The early bird gets the worm. And some people don't give a crap what time you put on your signs. Not exactly fair on those that waited until 10am.

^This is just the stuff we had left at the end of the day!!!
Have any experiences you with garage sales? As the buyer or the seller?

6am is too early for me.

So just like that he has come and gone again. *sigh* Apparently he will only do that 25 times a year.. yeah, like that makes me feel better :p

We spent our 5 days together playing touch football (we drew, darn), saying farewell, eating thai (twice, we're piggies!) watching I Love You, Man (hilarious! loved it!) and the rugby (Australia lost two games in one night. Poor form :p) eating stuffed capsicum and generally avoiding civilisation as much as possible :) What can I say? We're homebodies. This town forces you to be... your options are that or alcoholism. 12 days until we move - I am ridiculously excited. And scared. And undecided. I don't think uni is for me - I just wanna get a job (preferably one with co-workers, hello friends!) and save my butt off for Shillington College in Melbourne (or Sydney!) in 2012.

As much as I'm looking forward forward to whatever 2012 brings, or next year, or next month, or next week... I'm very much enjoying living this moment. In bed, with my Mischa trying to block my view with her big butt and loving purrs. Why do they always pick these moments to want attention? This cat will be the death of my blogging career :p

Wishing, waiting.

Only two more sleeps till I get this cutie back! I have had so much to do and I've done hardly any of it... I've just been spending my days alone awaiting his return. I'm completely uninspired (blogging-wise) without him... I dunno, why would I write about a life without him in it? I don't have too much of one really. Haha. Last weekend I went to touch (we won so easily it was boring) on Friday and then went to Beerfest/the pub with Hayley on Saturday. Apart from rocking a floral dress and denim jacket (and making sure everyone knew I've been watching lots of Dawson's Creek lately) it was a pretty boring night. Ah, I long for the days where there is more to do. And when I own a sewing machine :)

I have however been doing some of my favourite scrapping because my obsession with Lauren Grier has paid off. She asked me to guest on her creative team this month (after a big of nagging from me... :p) and I did 3 pages within 2 days! Now I'm just hanging out for new releases so I can feel as inspired as I was with her other products. Which is your fave? I'm in love with the first one - the photos David took are so ridiculously cute.

So that's news here. Tomorrow I must remember to get my bum to the post office. Procrastination will be end of me. How's your week going?

Harry Highpants

I love high-waisted shorts. They make my middle look tiny and show off my sporty legs while flattering my booty - what's not to love? The first time I wore these to work my boss asked me why I wore pyjamas today. LOL. I simply answered "these shorts are fun!" :)

I like that my hair is growing back so quickly! These photos are from last Thursday, just before David came home and while our time hasn't been just ours, I'm feeling a lot better today. I spent all day at work sorting out my scrapbook stash and breaking high score on tetris. Yeah, my job is awfully hard :p

I've decided that each outfit should contain a jumpability rating. This one is definitely a safer option than the previous, but as you can see he collar does funny things when you get air. So we'll give it an 8/10.

I must admit sometimes when I'm posing for the camera I try to mimic other bloggers - it puts a mile on my face. I can't remember who this would have been, but it would have been someone. Is this your pose? Haha. If it is, you win a lolly coz I like this picture.

Outtakes? What? It's a perfectly good photo and the reason for my blog title. (heheheh) These shorts make me feel like a cool grandpa at times and a 50s pin up girl at others, but I've gotten the cost per wear (thanks Kyla!) down to $3.60 so far. WIN. Check out my chictopia and weardrobe for even more photos of me rocking the high pants. And in other news it is less than 4 weeks now until the big move! This post is a little scatter-brained because it is so obviously bedtime for me. Night!
